  • 0

Note: If you are getting "No Satellite Signal Being received" that is not an HDMI Issue

Quick Guide.

  • Pick up the TV remote (not the Sky Remote).

  • Press Input/Source/AV.

  • Try HDMI 1, wait 10s → HDMI 2, wait 10s → HDMI 3.

  • Stop when you see the Sky TV screen.

  • Tip: Label it for next time

Safety & “Do Not” list:

  • Do not factory reset the TV or device.

  • Do not change picture/resolution settings yet.

  • Do not unplug every cable unless prompted—start with inputs first.

  • Symptoms this fixes:

    • No Signal” / black screen after turning on the SKY TV Box

    • TV shows other channels but not Sky TV

    • Sky TV remote does nothing (because TV is on wrong input).

  • Before you start (30-second pre-check):

    • Ensure the TV is powered on (power LED or logo).

    • Ensure the Sky TV box is on (Shows a green light)

    • Note your HDMI ports on the TV: usually HDMI 1/2/3 along the back/side.

  • Quick Path (confident users):

    • Use the TV remote → press Input/Source/AV (or Home then Source/Inputs).

    • Select HDMI 1 → wait 5–10s for a picture.

    • If no picture: try HDMI 2, then HDMI 3 (wait each time).

    • Success cues: Sky TV picture or menu appears.

    • If you land on TV/ANTENNA (live channels), press Input/Source again and choose HDMI.

  • Guided Path (new to this? go slow):

    • Find the TV remote (brand name at bottom: Samsung/LG/Sony/etc.).

    • Press Input, Source, or AV. If not present, press Home.

    • A list appears (e.g., HDMI 1 / HDMI 2 / HDMI 3).

    • Use ▲▼◀▶ arrows to highlight HDMI 1, press OK/Enter (center button).

    • Wait 10s. If still blank or “No Signal,” repeat for HDMI 2, then HDMI 3.

    • Look for: Sky TV or Sky TV menu

    •
  • Brand quick paths (most common EU models):

    • Samsung: HomeSource / Connected Devices → choose HDMI with preview. Older remotes: Source button.

    • LG (webOS): HomeInputs (or Device Connector) → select active HDMI.

    • Sony (Android/Google TV): Input (or TV then Inputs) → HDMI 1/2/3 with thumbnail.

    • Philips: Source → choose HDMI with preview.

    • Hisense / TCL (EU): Input or HomeInputs → pick active HDMI.

    •

  • If Black/Blank screen or No Signal persists after cycling HDMIs:

    • Confirm you used the TV remote to change inputs

    • Check Sky TV power

    • Try a different TV HDMI port (move cable from HDMI 1 → HDMI 2), then select that input.

    • Try a different HDMI cable if available (short, known-good).

  • Soundbar/AV receiver note (if present):

    • Ensure device → AVR HDMI IN; AVR HDMI OUT (TV-ARC/eARC)TV HDMI ARC/eARC.

    • Select the AVR as the source on the TV (often appears as a named HDMI).

    • If unsure, temporarily bypass the AVR (device → TV directly) to test.

  • Edge cases (keep simple):

    • “Mode Not Supported” / HDCP error: Try another HDMI port; if using 4K, the TV port may need HDMI UHD/Enhanced (settings vary by brand). If still failing, set device to 1080p

    • CEC (TV auto-switching to wrong source): If inputs keep changing by themselves, disable Anynet+ (Samsung)/ Simplink (LG) / BRAVIA Sync (Sony) temporarily (separate mini-guide).

  • Verification checklist (when picture appears):

    • Picture stable on Sky TV

    • Remote for your device responds (Home/Menu works).

    • Optional: Note the working port (e.g.,HDMI 2).

  • Prevention tips:

    • Place a small label near the port: "Sky TV = HDMI 2”

    • Keep a spare HDMI cable handy.

  • When to escalate:

    • You tried all HDMI ports with proper waits and correct remote.

    • Device shows power but no HDMI works, even with a second cable.

    • You rely on an AVR/switch and direct-to-TV also fails.

    • Next step: Schedule support or see “Check Cables & Hardware” (separate article).

  • FAQ (quick answers):

    • Why does my TV show live terrestrial TV instead of Sky TV → You’re on the TV tuner. Choose HDMI via Input/Source.

    • My Sky TV remote works but no picture. → The remote talks to the device, but the TV is on the wrong input. Change TV input.

    • Do I need a 4K cable? → Any decent High-Speed HDMI works for 1080p; for 4K60/HDR, use a Certified High-Speed/Ultra High Speed cable.
