"Your Sky box is still initialising..."
You may see ‘Your box is still initialising, please return in a short time to use this feature’ if you’ve turned your Sky box on. This means that the TV Guide and Planner are updating. If your Sky box has frozen on this message follow the step-by-step instructions below.
Restart the Sky box
- Press standby on your Sky remote, then switch off or unplug your Sky box at the mains socket.
- Check there's no lights on the front of your Sky box.
- Plug in and switch your Sky box back on at the mains. Check the power light has returned.
- Wait at least 4 minutes and press Sky to switch on your Sky box.
Most features will work straight away, but Search, TV Guide and the Planner may take a few minutes.
Final checks
If everything looks OK, where applicable, make sure you can:
- view channels and Catch Up TV according to your subscription package.
- live pause on a channel and can play / pause / rewind / fast-forward the programme.
- set a recording / download and can play / pause / rewind / fast-forward the programme.
If that hasn't fixed it, complete a system reset.
